Griffin and Belinda were great! I loved how thy so willingly stepped up to the plate to become parents. They always had a sexual chemistry even before thy realized it. Griffin was more forthcoming with his feelings than Belinda was as reflected in their parenting. Belinda was cautious and calculating and griffin was more "lets do it and deal with what happens." But the balance was perfect. Griffin also showed how in the right situation he was everything that he needed to be. He never committed to a relationship before because he never had a reason to... He hadn't been in love.I read this book in 1 sitting. It was absolutely fabulous the way the story flowed. And it helps that I absolutely love Rochelle Alers' leading men!!

Belinda Eaton has been thrusted into parenthood with a man she can't stand. When her sister and Griffin's brother are killed in a car accident, Belinda and Griffin are left to raise their twin daughters. Belinda is a sensible history teacher that likes organization and structure. Then there is Griffin, the fun loving sports attorney uncle who doesn't have a clue how to be a father but is willing to give it his all. Belinda is pleasantly surprised at what a good father Griffin is. She also notices that the dislike she has had for him was actually masquerading her true feelings. Can Belinda let go and explore those feelings?
Bittersweet Love is an excellent book by Rochelle Alers. It is an easy read that flows very well. The characters are very believable and relatable. This is the first book in a new series. Alers does a wonderful job introducing the Eaton family and piquing your interest for future Eaton novels.
This is the love story of Belinda and Griffin. Belinda and Griffin are in-laws their siblings were married and tragically died in a car accident leaving both of them legal guardians of their 12-year-old fraternal twin nieces. So Belinda and Griffin have known each other for at least 13 years and on the surface they don't like each other but unbeknownst to each other they both had a thing for each other. He thought she was too young for him she thought he was a panty chasing womanizer. And she wasn't trying to be a notch on anybody's belt. But coming together to take care of their nieces showed a different side that the other didn't know existed. Even though things were going good between them an incident in her past threatens their relationship. Overall this was a great story believable characters and I highly recommend this book definitely five stars.
The actual story was okay but the narration was really terrible. The narrator, Erica Love, mispronounced words all throughout the book. It was very distracting. In just a single love scene she read that Belinda behavior was "wonton" (like Chinese wonton soup) instead of "wanton"; that Griffin "gasped as she gasped [him]" instead of "grasped [him]"; and that Belinda "revered in his touch" instead of "reveled in his touch". This type of mispronunciation or use of the wrong words happens all throughout the book. The audio book would have benefitted from a good editor or the author listening to the narration and requiring some corrections. I will not read another book with this narrator.
Author is an excellent writer. I have enjoyed reading her series on the Eaton & Wainwright family, and Hideaway Legacy.
Belinda and Griffin are a great couple who had to overcome a lot of obstacles but they survived!
I agree with the other reviewer. The passion in this book was non existent. The characters actions seemed forced and there was zero chemistry. I know Rochelle Alers is a great author but this was a total miss. It took way too long for the characters to even realize they cared about each other and the sex scenes seemed forced. This was a definite miss!
This book was just O.K. to me because I felt that the storyline was rushed and that Belinda and Griffin had no chemistry. Belinda seemed stuck up, Griffin was full of himself and what about the twins Sabrina and Layla, we hardly hear from them. Maybe Belinda's brother Myles' story with be better than this.
