It ia absolutely amazing and incredible that a couple such as they, have lived and survived such a life of turmoil, challenges, and personal tragedies in an environment of the 20th century USA. Rood took it upon himself to practise in his daily life in Colorado, all aspects of honesty and integrity, and therefore, to prove that these traits can lead to financial success.

Fantastic book! A must read book about the life of a real cowboy in modern times. It's about how the author overcame personal tragedies and setbacks, survived devastating weather conditions, plowed through financial crunches, was a visionary innovator in the livestock industry and persevered to lead a happy, successful and colorful life that holds the readers interest. Definitely a page turner.

Here is an opportunity to get a first-hand account of ranching on the High Plains with one of the rugged individualists of his day. Rood Menter built his career --- joined by Georgine --- going over, around, and through problems that would have turned other people away. Moreover, they did it successfully --- and with their unique sense of style and enjoyment. Rood was thinking 'outside the box' long before it became the buzzword of the day! You will enjoy reading this book!!
Outstanding story about an innovative approach to agriculture, determination from an early age to be a success. As a producer,he stands above the crowd and nothing seems to get in his way from not only surviving, but exceeding in his chosen field. Extremely interesting individual who I want to vist and speak with. His Wentworth days left him very loyal to those relationships and full of appreciation of what he learned there. Easy read full of lots of information. Recommended reading.
I have know Rood for almost 14 years. I really know him much better after reading this book. It is amazing the things that he has accomplished. But heck, he started at 13 years old and never slowed down. A real measure of a man are the awards that are bestowed upon him. Therefore, Rood is really a success story. You will learn what it takes to be "USA Rancher of the Year". It is a good story even if you have never met him. It shows what people had to go through when times were never considered easy.

Thank you Rood for documtmenting your life.

I knew of Rood and Cottonwood Ranch growing up but was fascinated with the history, great book. Amazing some of his new ideas and advancements throughout the book, very creative thinker. I think it would be a great movie has love, sex, history and business all in one book. Amazing story, enjoyed it great book. Lots of names and people mentioned in the book that I knew was really interesting. Good job. Thanks Steve Brown, Holyoke, CO
How about a tough minded real life person that started out as a 13 year old having to run a hugh ranch, and becoming an outstanding citizen, soldier and cattle expert. A person that wasn't afraid to try the new.

A soul that started over from nature's defeats to come out on top. Here's a story written by the "Cowboy" himself in his own style. This is an inspirational book. It reads like a dime novel, but is real. You , as

a reader, deserve to delve into this true life adventure story. This book is all Rood and Georgene(Baby). I give it my heartiest recommendation. John E. Elliff, M.D.
